Get Involved
CTK Food Share and Farm exists to use the vehicle of food to bring hope to the hungry people of Whatcom County and help volunteers become more like Jesus.
Jesus makes it clear that he takes it personally when we feed the hungry, and he has created this ministry to be a light to Whatcom County.
Our purpose speaks to our calling and points to our King:
“For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited me in…The King will answer and say to them, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of these brothers of mine, even the least of them, you did it for me.’ – From Matthew 25:35-40
Ways to Get Involved
Farm
-

Field Trip Hosts
Children always enter the farm with awe and curiosity and it's our joy to invite them into learning how their food grows and what we do at the farm. Field trips range from preschool to High school students and vary greatly but are always a great time. Hosting is flexible but happens mainly during the spring and fall on weekdays.
-

Event Hosts
People are what drive the work we do out at the CTK Farm and although there is a group of about 30 that run most of the day to day tasks, groups are the way we are able to get done all we need to get done. To host them we need you. Our ability to grow the amount of food we do is directly correlated to the amount of help we can get. So join us in opening the farm to different groups and make a difference in our community.
-

Gleaning Team
Did you know that over 30% of all food grown is left in fields all over the United States? This year we believe that God is calling us to build a team to help rescue food from local farms and backyards and distribute it to food banks along with the other food we offer. To answer this call, we need to build out a whole team, including the people to organize, communicate, lead, and those doing the actual work of gleaning with us!
-

Grow a Row or Gleaning Donation
If you are interested in growing a little extra for the food banks or find yourself with extra of a crop, reach out to us and we can work to find a way to get it to people who need it.
