Hello, CTK Blessing Donor!

Every week, I thank God for donations made to the Blessing fund.  I thank Him for his heart for all Whatcom County, for inviting CTK to be part of His Kingdom coming here and now, and for the faithfulness and generosity of His church.  I’m amazed by the many ways He is moving amidst, around and through us - from the biggest endeavors to the simplest acts of faithful service. Some are giving; some are farming; some are driving; some are building, some are coordinating and communicating…it all reminds me of the passage in Romans 12:4-8 where all our gifts, used in faith, combine to accomplish the work of Christ in our world. It is a beautiful thing to behold! Two or three times a year, we want to share that view with you, to invite you to celebrate the goodness of God manifesting through the obedience of your church family.

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your[a] faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

-Romans 12:4-8 NIV

Here are a few ways God has answered the prayers of many and met the needs of many more through the Blessing:

Heading into 2026, last year’s donations had brought us within $3000 of what we’d need to continue ministry at the current level.  Our team began to think through what we’d need to do to operate with no margin when a totally unexpected gift of $30,000 arrived.  Thank you Lord!

In February, we found out the warehouse space we used for last year’s Stamp Out Hunger postal food drive sorting project had been leased.  In late March, we were just 7 weeks out and still no warehouse and no viable Plan B surfacing to sort all that food in just one week. Then, a smaller, viable warehouse right across the street from CTK blipped on the radar and fell into place. Thank you Lord!

A series of events (injury, a death in the family) had a woman in our CTK family feeling pretty overwhelmed.  She shared with her small group and they reached out to see if a Response Team could help. Two teams cut down overgrown grass, installed exterior lights, and repaired decking. She had been so discouraged for so long, and now she smiles when sharing that she can even mow her lawn! Thank you Lord!

A single mom prayed for help catching up on her childcare bill.  A young man prayed for help with funeral expenses after the unexpected passing of his dad. A woman living on a fixed income prayed for help repairing her car. A woman recovering from surgery, unable to work, prayed for help making her rent payment.  God answered each of these prayers through the collective generosity of his people at CTK. Thank you Lord!

These answers to prayer and so many more I could share often lead me to wonder what God has in store for us next. May we continue to hear from the Lord and follow his lead in meeting needs in our own church family and the community around us.  And in all spaces he sends, may we bring the love of our Father, the grace of Jesus, and the tender power of the Spirit.

Deeply blessed to be in ministry with you,

Wendy Powell
