Community Partner Criteria
How do we select partners?
From the hundreds of wonderful nonprofits based in Whatcom County, our partners are chosen based on six criteria:
Working in one of our five focus areas – Kids & Families, Homelessness, Survivor Support, Disabilities, or Hunger Relief
Spiritually aligned or neutral – These organizations not hold a system of beliefs counter to ours.
Cultural fit – These organizations align with our values.
Viability – These organizations show signs of financial stability and overall health.
Mutuality – These organizations are willing and able to create two-way relationship that benefits both them & CTK.
Capacity – Partnership is limited to available funding & volunteer capacity.
Potential partners are researched, vetted, and discovered throughout the year but new partners are selected in the fall each year as capacity allows.
